What a weekend
Eric and Carleen's wedding was BEAUTIFUL! It was Christmas/Winter themed. They has a HUGE Christmas tree behind them while they exchanged vows, which I thought was a very nice touch. The minister that married them was very nice (I think he said he was from Richland Hills church of Christ). The minister was also very close friends of their family and Eric's middle name was given to him in honor of the minister (his first name is Eric's middle name). I cried when they exchanged vows and Daniel and I held hands during the ceremony. I love my husband, the thought of him makes me swoon sometimes.
Ani had a fun weekend with Nana and we had a great weekend too. Daniel and I woke up early on Saturday morning and went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. After breakfast we went to Grapevine Mills and walked around. It is so nice to be alone together sometimes. We usually talk about the kids the whole time!
On Saturday Merri brought Leni home which was very kind considering the drive! She also brought us a wonderful lunch from Central Market! We munched on some of the best cheese we have ever had and watched movies together in bed with the projector on the wall.
Saturday night Mark Jee came over. I went to bed really early around 9:00. I didn't mean to fall asleep so early but I layed down and didn't wake up until the morning.
Sunday was lazy and we picked up Ani from my mom at 170.
Today I logged all of Ani's weekend info into her online log book.
I am about to get started with my morning cleaning routine. I have to catch up on the sweeping and vacuuming since I didn't do it all weekend. It is so nice to have Ani home from school !

Oh man I never thought I would call Liberty Medical!
Okay. I know you have seen the commercial with Wilford Brimley (Fat old guy who looks like a walrus) "If you have DIA-BETUS, your testing supplies may be covered..." I hate that commercial. I have always hated that old man!
Here's the commercial:
Anyways, at our last doctors appointment they told us to call our insurance about mailing Ani's diabetes supplies in three month increments to our door. After being on the phone with the insurance company all afternoon they reffered me to Liberty Medical.
I called Liberty and gave them every piece of information they needed to verify insurance, perscriptions and so on to have Ani's supplies shipped for free.
Only things I made orders for today were the test strips and the lancet drums because we have enough of the rest to last a while. Next month I will probably order everything. They will ship EVERYTHING diabetes related straight to your door with FREE SHIPPING. Along with free shipping, they call you when it looks like you are running low on anything to make sure that you never run out. That means after I make the full order next month, I should have to go to the pharmacy ever again for Ani's insulin, syringes, test strips, lancets or even the alcohol pads!
PRETTY COOL FOR A COMPANY WITH A STRANGE OLD MAN WHO CAN SAY DIABETES CORRECLY!

The Christmas party worked out
Ani's teacher wrote down everything but I forgot to ask her to write down a quantity for each item so I could determine a serving size. So I did the next best thing. Instead of counting for all of the carbs she ate at the party, I just checked her sugars and determined a correction based on how high her blood sugar ran over 200.
When I got her home she tested 223 which was WAY lower than my mom brain imagined. So I gave her a .5u correction at 11:00am and I will check her again at lunch at noon. If she is still higher than 200 at noon than I will give her another correction in addition to her insulin for lunch.

Christmas break is finally here!!
This morning is a good one! Today is the last day of school for Ani until early January! Today is also the day that Ani gets to have her school Christmas party.
Type 1 diabetes + School Christmas party = bad?
Not for Ani! I have been on the babycenter T1D forums going crazy over what I should do.
Should I tell her she can't have what all of the sweets the other kids in her class are having?
Should I go up there and give her the insulin after the party?
After talking to the many other moms with kids with T1D and Ani's teacher I found that the best decision was to have her teacher write down everything she eats and give her insulin for it when I pick her up from school.
Diabetes is all about balance. For everything you take you have to give some back! I will not let Ani miss out on a second of fun!
Here is a video from me dropping her off this morning:

Today
Tomorrow Lars and I have to go to a friends Wedding in Fort Worth. We are taking Ani with us and Leni is staying with Nan until after the Wedding tomorrow night.
Since Leni was gone most of the day Ani and I had some special time.
We painted toenails!

Ani's blood sugar took a nose dive about an hour after lunch. I even gave her less insulin than she needed to make sure she wouldn't go low but she did anyways. She was acting grumpy, sleepy and strange at 3:00 so I checked her and she was 68! I gave her juice and 15 minutes later she tested 107 so I let her have a piece of toast. I even let her have a candy cane at 5.
Tonight Brandy and Will are coming over. Daniel and Will are both painting Warhammer armies right now so it's perfect. Yay I can give Brandy her Christmas present!
